Sacred Walls: A Collection of Mithila Paintings from India

This Collection was first presented as a show at the Shivaani Gallery, San Francisco California in the summer of 2003. The collection displays the works of Baua Devi and other women artists from Jitwarpur, India. The show provides an educational context for the art by retelling the mythology and symbols that are the original inspiration for the Maithili paintings.
