MithilaPaintings.com represents the intercultural moment when new perspectives arise and much that has been forgotten is rediscovered and replayed.

Our goal is to create a forum for the appreciation, dissemination and education of the Mithila Paintings. Through a series of exhibitions, publications and lecture series on Mithila Paitnings and its artists, MithilaPaintings.com seeks to build a recognition for both contemporary and traditional Mithila Paintings as its own canon.

To support the artisans to earn a sustainable living through their art, part of the proceeds from the sales of the paintings are given back to the artisans.
